Indian Navy SSR Notification 2017

Indian Navy invites applications from unmarried Male Candidates for enrolment as Sailors for Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR) – February 2018 Batch Course commencing February 2018. The Online Registration start from 22nd May 2017 and close on 4th June 2017.

Candidates should have been born between 01 Feb 97 to 31 Jan 2001 (Both dates inclusive).
During the initial training period, stipend of Rs 5700 pm will be admissible. On successful completion of initial training, they will be placed in the Pay Band Rs 5200-20200. In addition they will be paid Grade Pay @ Rs 2000/- plus MSP @ Rs 2000/- plus DA.
Educational Qualification: Qualified in 10+2 or equivalent examination with Maths and Physics and at least one of these subjects; Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer science.

Selection Process: Selection of recruits is based on the order of merit on their performance in Written Test, qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in Medical Examinations.

Written Test :
(a) The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and objective type.
(b) The question paper will comprise of four sections i.e. English, Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge.
(c) The question paper will be of 10+2 standard and the syllabus for the examination is available on website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in.
(d) Duration of examination will be one hour.
(e) The candidates are required to pass in all sections and in aggregate.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT) : PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7minutes, 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.

Medical Standards :
(a) Medical examination will be conducted by authorized military doctors as per medical
standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to sailors on entry.
(b) Minimum height 157 cms. Weight and Chest should be proportionate. Minimum Chest  expansion of 5 cms.
(c) The candidate must be in good physical and mental health, free from any defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties both ashore and afloat under peace as well as war conditions as per Navy Order (Special) 01/2008.
(d) Initial Medical Examination for recruitment will be considered only “Provisionally  fit subject to fitness in the final medical examination”. Final Medical Examination of all selected candidates will be done at INS Chilka. Candidates who are found medically  fit at final medical examination will be enrolled for training. No “Appeal” is permitted for review after the final enrolment medical examination at INS Chilka.

(a) Height and Weight: Minimum height - 157 cms with correlated weight as per age.
(b) Eye Sight: The minimum acceptable vision standards for distant vision is 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses. Should not be colour/ night blind.
(c) Tattoo: Permanent body tattoos are not permitted on any part of the body, however, certain concessions are permitted to candidates belonging to tribal communities/ from tribal areas as declared by the Government of India. For other candidates permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearms i.e. from inside of elbow to wrist and on the reverse side of palm/ back (dorsal) side of hand.

Selection Procedure:

(c) Equal number of candidates would be shortlisted for SSB from the two lists based on their merit. However, if the response from either of the options is less, candidates from the other list will be considered for short listing.
(d) Final induction will be on a common merit based on SSB marks.

Medical Standards:
(a) Eye sight - The minimum distance vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 both eyes without correction i.e. without wearing of glasses.
(b) The candidates must not have knock knee, flat food, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

Selection Process: Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Written Test

Medical Standards:

  2. Height - Minimum height 157 cms.Reduction in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. orders. 
  3. Chest - Should be well proportioned.Minimum expansion 5 cms. 
  4. Weight - Proportionate to height and age +10% acceptable. 
  5. Hearing - Normal 
  6. No Cardio-vascular disease, surgical deformities like knock knee, flat feet etc. infection of ears, no history of fits or psychiatric ailment, varicose vein, corrective surgery for eye sight etc. 
  7. Visual Standards. 6/24 withoutglasses and 6/9 & 6/12 with glasses for Better Eye and Worse Eye respectively. 
  8. Initial Medical Examination for recruitment will be considered only "Provisionally fit subject to fitness in the final medical examination" Final Medical Examination of all selected candidates will be done at INS Chilka. Candidates who are NOT found medically fit in the final medical examination at INS Chilka will NOT be enrolled for training. No "Appeal" is permitted for review after the final enrolment medical examination at INS Chilka.
Selection Process:
  1. Shortlisted candidates will be called for Recruitment Written Test (Objective Type). 
  2. Those who qualify written tests will undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and initial Medical Examination. The testing procedure will take1-2 days. 
  3. Recruitment Test - The Written Test scheduled to be held on September / October 2016. The questions paper will contain questions from their respective branch(Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics & Telecommunication) and will also include some questions of general knowledge, reasoning aptitude & English. 
  4. The Physical Fitness Test  will be conducted for all those who pass the written tests. Qualifying PFT as per the standards given below is compulsory. The PFT will consist as under: 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups (UthakBaithak), 10 Push ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk. 
  5. Candidates those who qualify the Physical Fitness Test will be required to undergo initial recruitment medical examination at the respective recruitment 
  6. centre. 
  7. Based on the performance in the written examination, candidates will be shortlisted for medical examination in a ratio as may be decided by Coast Guard. Mere declaration of fit in initial medical examination does not indicate selection of the candidate for the final medical at INSChilka. 
  8. The select list will be prepared from the candidates who qualify in all the tests depending upon the available vacancies. The All India select list of candidates will be displayed in the Indian Coast Guard Website in the month of January 2017.

Pay and Allowances:  The Artificer Apprentices Basic Pay Band is Rs 5200-20200. In addition, they will be paid Grade Pay @ Rs 2000/- plus MSP @ Rs 2000/- plus 'X' Group Pay @ Rs 1400/- plus DA.

Educational Qualifications: Qualified in 10+2 / equivalent examination with 60% or more marks in aggregate with Maths & Physics and at least one of these subjects; Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer science.

Selection Process: Selection of recruits is based on the order of merit on their performance in Written Test, qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in Medical Examinations.

Written Test:
(a) The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and objective type.
(b) The question paper will comprise of four sections i.e. English, Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge.
(c) The standard of the question paper will be that of 10+2 and the syllabus for the examination is available on Indian Navy website.
(d) Duration of examination will be one hour.
(e) The candidates are required to pass in all sections and in aggregate.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
(a) Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection.

Selection Procedure: All eligible applicants whose applications are submitted by due date will be called for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) (applicable only for candidates applying for technical branch) to be conducted on 28 August 2016 (Sunday) at one of the examination centres.

The Candidates who are short-listed on the basis of Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT/EKT) will be called for further testing at one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs) at Dehradun, Mysore, Gandhinagar, Varanasi or Kancharapara. The testing would consist of 2 stages as given below:-

(a) Stage-I Test consisting of Intelligence Test along with other tests will be conducted on the first day. Stage-I test is a screening test and only those who qualify would undergo subsequent testing. All Stage-I qualified candidates would be subjected to document check to ascertain their eligibility for the branches applied for. Those candidates who either do not qualify in Stage-I testing or do not meet the required eligibility criteria would be sent back on the first day itself.
(b) Stage-II testing consisting of Psychological test, Group Tests and Interview will be conducted on subsequent days (Five Days).

Indian Army invites applications from unmarried Male Candidates for Permanent Commission 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme Course - 36 Commencing From January 2017. Indian Nationals who have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics  (Hereinafter referred to as PCM) subjects for the grant of Permanent Commission in the Army after 4 years of Basic Military Training and Technical Training. Age Limit: A candidate must not be below 16 & 1/2 years and above 19 & 1/2years on the first day of the month in which the course is commencing i.e. the candidate should not be born before 01 Jul 1997 and not after 01 Jul 2000 (both days inclusive)

Type of Commission:
(a) Permanent Commission: On successful completion of 4 years of the course cadets will be granted Permanent Commission in the Army in the rank of Lt.
(b) Grant of Commission: On successful completion of total 04 years training, the candidates will be commissioned in the rank of Lt. They will be granted seniority on overall order of merit of the three technical institutes combined i.e. CME, MCTE, MCEME and in case the date of commissioning coincides with that of IMA, Dehradun, they will be placed en-block junior to IMA (NDA / ACC / DE Course) but above TGC / UES course.

Stipend / Pay and Allowances: The candidates will be given a stipend of Rs 21,000/- p.m. (Rs 15,600/- as pay in Pay Band plus Grade Pay of Rs 5,400/-) as is admissible to NDA cadets on completion of 3 years training. On completion of 4 Years training they will be commissioned in the rank of Lt and entitled to pay as admissible to the rank.

Educational Qualification: Only those candidates who have passed 10+2 Examination or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized education board are eligible to apply for this entry. Eligibility condition for calculating PCM % of various state / central boards will be based on marks obtained in class XII only.
